Picking up a kid. For the last time.
Just the other day I picked Pierce up. Yep, 10 years old, 5 feet tall, 100+ pounds and I picked him up to hold him. Not to move him or for anything other than to hold him. And he let me. He still sits on my lap on occasion and honestly until about Christmas, I picked him up regularly. I love it. I think I did it the other day because I looked at him and realized, I don't think I will carry him to his room or anywhere again. He's simply too big and too old. I wanted to remember the last time. In our kitchen. In the evening. Last week. Now if that was the last time, I will be okay with it. I think.
