Blizzard outside, Happy inside!

This shall be my slogan for this winter - happy watching my three big boys play and battle the snow while playing INSIDE with the little one!

The forecast and meteorologists are for real. We're having a blizzard in Iowa. It's cold, we have lots of snow, the wind is blowing hard, roads are closed, school was let out early yesterday and cancelled today and it's still snowing. Thankfully, I've been inside since arriving home with the boys yesterday. Mitch has not been so lucky shoveling last night, this morning and just a bit ago with the last two times being the heaviest snow he's ever moved. Thank goodness for using our neighbors snow blowers. I'm sure they are okay with it since he's taken care of their driveways and sidewalks.

Pierce and I have done a lot of snow watching from inside. The boys braved the snow with their friends Evan and Landon last night (see photos) then Graham headed out for another half hour of shoveling with Mitch. Today, another hour out for Max, a bit more for Graham and Graham bugging Mitch about going out again. Graham is going to be our abominable snowman this year. So far, the only cold complaints are about their faces but not until they come inside and they see how red they are in the mirror.

Graham's need to go outside just gave way to a nap with Mitch which I'm sure Mitch tried to discourage. Max hasn't said a word since starting Chicken Little a few minutes ago. Time for me to clean-up the kitchen and prepare for another round of wet snow clothes!
