Flying high

Football and a friend made Max's day.

Max scored a touchdown in the Jaguars flag football game today. Then he had an interception. Finally, another touchdown. Not your average day for most 9 year-olds! Max has really worked hard this season and is more into the game then I've seen him. He's enjoying it and I love watching him out there. The excitement when a friend does something well is obvious. The excitement multiplies when he does good. He smiled ear to ear - then maybe some more - after each of his big plays. His friends cheered. They gave him high fives. Mitch and Doug congratulated him. He did a chest bump or two with Caleb.

It got better.

My parents were at the game and saw it all happen.

Then something topped that.

Caleb rode home with Mitch and Max. He said to Max, "Max, you were our MVP today." Mitch said Max was very humble and just said thank you.

He was still glowing when he went to bed tonight.

Proud of the kid. Very.
