Reading excitement
Graham is ecstatic! He's doing the reading boxes at school as of today. Montessori has three sets of six or seven boxes for different skill levels. Graham started with the pink boxes and is already on number six. Inside each box are words that correspond to the letter sound on top along with the photos that match the words. For example, the short a box has the words and pictures of van, ham, jam, etc. in it. He completed a box for me today carefully sounding out each word. He's really been trying hard to learn to read and he's very proud of himself. So am I.
