Another 6+ inches between yesterday and today. This is going to be a long winter. It's pretty, yet, but seriously, we've had enough. It's only January 7, too! Yikes!
In all the blizzard conditions last night (especially in central Iowa), my sister and the girls made it from Portland, OR to Des Moines and on to my parents in Story City. I talked with my dad and sister throughout the night, including on the drive, since travel was not recommended on I-35. I'm thankful for my dad's sometimes slow but always cautious driving keeping everyone safe.
